sloped.txt 23 feb 2003 i used software to make this music: vim lets me compose arbitrary text perl lets me generate text wigout turns text into sound i wasn't afraid to let it sound like a machine- artificially generated [since it was]. this time, i tried embracing both bleeps and blorps. i always welcome serendipity. the middle section was generated by a perl script. i wrote out the rhythm like it was gamelan music in a 3 note scale. it goes from 8 to 2 beats, subtracting one by one. i kept it in a *.sco file of notes and beats [because it is a csound-ish thing to do]. i had the perl script parse this file, then do the calculations to speed up the tempo gradually, and add the background noise. i like the idea of music generated by software. released under the EFF Open Audio license (O).
